Portrait Photography at Summer Dreams Farm
We are opening the fields throughout the month of September to professional photographers (with a valid tax ID number) with liability insurance for portrait photography. Only portrait photography will be allowed on the farm. Any professional photography other than portrait (i.e. landscape, still life, product, promotional, etc.) is prohibited. Each booking is for one hour and one photographer (times available are listed below).
We will have 5 acres of dahlias and other flowers growing in our fields with many great locations to shoot. We have a portable bathroom available on site, but there is no running water. It is recommended that guests prepare for their shoot before arriving to the farm. It is also recommended that guests are able to walk at least 500 feet while at the farm as some of the best locations for photos are around 500 feet from the parking area. We only allow three openings for each time slot and no other events are scheduled during these evenings, so you will have plenty of space for you to shoot. You are welcome to arrive early to start scouting locations, but shooting is only allowed during your time slot.
There are no refunds for missed appointments. Refunds and reschedules for bad weather are at the discretion of Summer Dreams Farm, LLC.
Terms and Conditions
By booking a photography session, you agree to the terms as described below:
Farm Safety
Our primary concern is for the safety of our employees and guests at the farm. Keeping that in mind, if you want to schedule an session you need to be aware of the following:
While we keep the field as free from hazards as possible, it is important to realize that this is a working production farm - not a manicured garden. Guests need to be aware that there may be things like uneven ground, rocks, sticks, poison ivy, posts (for supporting dahlias), or other hazards to be mindful of. It is recommended guests wear close toed shoes.
Farm Rules
We are fortunate to be able to earn a living from the plants on the farm. We have spent 10s of thousands of hours shaping this property into what it is today and it is important to maintain its integrity. We spend the entire year working for just 4 or 5 weeks of blooms. If damage is done to our plants, it hurts our ability to continue to farm.
Each booking grants ONE photographer use of the fields for their one hour block. If photographers go over their time block they will be charged $75 every 20 minutes.
Guests are not allowed to cut or remove flowers from plants in the field. If anyone is doing damage to the plants on the farm, they and their photographer will be asked to leave immediately. It is the photographer’s responsibility to make sure this is clear to all their clients on the farm and assure they are following this rule. If flowers are wanted for part of the shoot (for example and armload of flowers similar to the image above), it can be arranged for an extra fee by contacting Michael at info@summerdreamsfarm.com.
Guests are responsible to remove all trash or items they bring onto the farm such as food, wrappers, bottles, etc.
Guests and photographers are expected to be respectful of other guests time and space on the farm. There is lots of space available for everyone. If you are concerned about having enough space or time, you can book all available slots for your shoot. There are three openings for each time slot for the day.
Any professional photography other than portrait (i.e. landscape, still life, product, promotional, etc.) is prohibited.
